As many residents already know, we have a problem with dog fouling on any green area in Matfen village as well as in other villages in the parish. Despite sending out messages, providing poo bags etc., the problem still exists. When the Parish Council contacted the Dog Warden at Northumberland County Council for help and advice, we were told that from their records there is no problem in Matfen as no incidences had been reported.

It seems that the best way to get some traction with this is to report every incidence of dog fouling that people come across on the NCC website, (http://northumberland.gov.uk/citizenportal/form.aspx…) so that we build up a history of the problem and hopefully then can obtain help, advice and guidance as to how we deter this disgusting problem.

Please report every incidence you come across, most dog walkers are considerate and also abhor this behaviour and as always it’s the chosen few who spoil it for all.
